We made it our mission to stop here for lunch on our way to vacation in Old Orchard Beach. We were offered a couple dinner rolls before our meal which were nothing special but I always appreciate free carbs. My entree was a lobster roll with coleslaw and fries.

The fries were hot and delicious, the coleslaw freshly made and the lobster roll stuffed with the famous lobster meat Maine is known for. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite!

My boyfriend enjoyed his fried whole belly clams which he was very happy were not greasy like so many seafood places. Despite him ordering the "lighter fare" option, the restaurant is still very generous with their portions for a fair price.

My daughters and I went to the weathervane as we have many times in the past and 2 aspects of this visit left me a little disappointed. As a starter we ordered the onion rings and they were good. There was no lobster in the bisque from what I could tell, and the primary taste was that of cream.

The other item as that in the floors of the area of the restaurant in which we were seated had been cleaned with something that made them very slippery like ice, although they were dry to the point where it was necessary to step very carefully to avoid slipping.

As a result of this experience we most likely will not be back. I used to stop at this same location decades ago while driving through to northern maine on vacation, so was looking forward to the nostalgia when stopping in again with my wife and kids. Unfortunately, I would not go back given all the other seafood options in the area.

So he asked for the adult, expensive fried shrimp dinner - but without the batter. They love their fried food here. He also went healthy with some broccoli instead of fries, and even that was overcooked and inedible.

The native popcorn shrimp were good, but the overall experience was poor.

I would recommend you look around elsewhere while on the coast. Ordered some food while at the brewery next door. When the food finally arrived our order was not correct. Waitresses were polite and fixed order immediately however the food was sub par at best.

Calamari was thrown together shortly afterwards and was soggy and nothing close to RI style.
